Feeling
Healthy and Happy Again, with a Renewed Excitement for What the Future Holds

Before my addiction, I was always happy and felt healthy. I enjoyed my kids and spending every moment I could with them. I went from being a very happy person to being very depressed and angry, with nowhere to call home. I began spending less and less time with my kids, all due to my drug addiction. The only relationships I had were with the people I used with, even quitting my job due to my addiction.
My mom ended up finding Narconon Suncoast online after I reached out to her and told her I needed help. She reached out to Narconon and spoke with Justin and Jordan. I spoke with Justin about my addiction and he was very helpful. Before I knew it, I was on my way.
I was extremely nervous when I arrived at Narconon Suncoast. It was scary coming to a place I had never been before and the prospect of being surrounded by people I did not know. I was immediately greeted by Jordan and he was extremely helpful and reassuring. All the staff made me feel very comfortable. I knew I wanted to stay because I had made the decision that I was done with the life I was living, and my mind was made up upon arrival.
I got so much out of this program. I learned how to deal with my emotions in a healthy and sober way. I learned the value of having control over my own life, and that no one else is in control of me. I realized that I had let my past effect my future, but now I could see that yesterday was yesterday, today is today, and tomorrow now holds a brighter future. I was able to work on my relationships with my family and having those relationships back and strengthening them has been great.
Throughout the program I have begun feeling better and better, both physically and mentally. It is an incredible feeling of accomplishment in finishing this program, seeing everything that I have gained and achieved. I know that I can use the tools that I have learned throughout my time here and use them daily to continue my drug-free life.
That is what I am looking forward to, living a healthy, drug-free life that is free from addiction. I am looking forward to that leading to better relationships with my kids, family, and friends, and helping others in spreading the message of hope with my story.
