A Grateful Husband and Father Who Now Has My Life Back

I had a pretty normal life until my late 30’s. I had my own successful business, I was financially stable, and I had a family consisting of my wife and kids who I adored. I guess you could say I was living the ‘American Dream’, complete with a house in the suburbs. Life was simple and peaceful.
Then one day something happened that would severely alter the course of my life. For a variety of reasons, I began taking painkillers. It started off innocently enough, until one day I found myself needing more and more of them. Before I knew it, I was completely addicted to painkillers and felt like I had no control over any of it. I began spending copious amounts of money on my addiction, tens of thousands of dollars down the drain to feed into my habit. This inevitably began causing major problems within my family. My wife could not understand why I would do such a thing. She never used drugs and did not drink, so what I was doing to myself and my family was baffling to her.
This is when I knew I needed to reach out for help. I went to a few different places including trying 12-step programs, but nothing seemed to help. I kept searching, and eventually, I found Narconon Suncoast. I saw the words ‘Drug-Free’ and that immediately appealed to me. I decided to make the call.
After calling and learning about the program I made the decision to go to Narconon, something that turned out to be the right decision for once. The staff were great, immediately making me feel welcome and comfortable. They were always helpful and friendly. I got through the withdrawal portion of the program and went into the Sauna, or the New Life Detoxification, part of the program. I noticed that after each day I began feeling better and better. I began to get my energy back and was able to gain some healthy weight that had been lost during my addiction, the changes coming were inevitable.
Throughout my program, I continued to feel better and better, both physically and mentally. As I began to feel good about myself, I realized how much I want this feeling to continue as I move forward with my life. There are so many opportunities for me and my family when I have my addiction behind me, and knowing that I can live my life drug-free, for good, is something that brings me both comfort and peace.
Graduating this program has given me the opportunity to get my life back, the opportunity to have a life again that I can feel good about. A life where I can be the husband and father that my family deserves. I am so thankful to have had this opportunity and I am looking forward to making the most of what I learned here and moving forward with my life. Thank you Narconon Suncoast.
