One Year of Saved Lives!

1 year of salvaging lives

Last month, Narconon Suncoast celebrated its one year anniversary of being open at its new Clearwater, FL location. The new, state-of-the-art center was built for one purpose: to be the most cutting-edge drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in the world. After many hours of hard work and dedication, the center opened to help those who wish to live a life free of addiction. Now, one year and over 65 graduates later, the center is definitely living up to its expectations.

It almost feels like yesterday that the staff were dressed up, in all their finery, ready to receive the 3,000 people that were projected to attend the opening ceremonies. A few weeks before opening day, the finishing touches had been put on the facility and you could smell the new carpets and fresh paint on the walls. The staff were extensively studying and training for their new roles in the center. They drilled how to properly get a person through the program; from intake through each step of the process to ensure a perfectly delivered rehabilitation experience. The week before the facility was set to open, the staff prepared to open to the public. After long shifts, sleepless nights, driven by caffeine, nicotine and purpose, the center was finally ready for its first student.

Opening Day

Narconon Suncoast Grand Opening

On opening day, the staff arrived early and made triple sure the facility looked perfect; positioning all the furniture, making sure all the signs were straight, and all the spaces were in order. There it was. The perfect Narconon center in all its glory. A stage, flanked by 2 enormous monitors was set up in front of the facility, surrounded by 3000 chairs. Around 1 pm the public started to arrive. Everyone was so excited for the new, model Narconon Center that Florida and the world so desperately needed. The grand opening ceremony began and many speakers took the stage, from the Public Defender to a Florida State Representative, all in support of the new Narconon Suncoast.

The ribbon was cut, confetti cannons blasted and the crowd cheered. The new facility was officially open. The staff all ran back to their posts to greet the thousands of people were now going to tour the facility. As the crowd filtered through, you could hear the “oohs” and “ahhs” while they walked around and checked out the center. After shaking around 3,000 hands, the staff felt a sense of accomplishment and were ready to get their first student into the program, which happened later that evening.

Fast forward one year later, and the facility is in full-swing. The center is filled to capacity, students are busy working on their programs and the staff are delivering the most effective drug rehabilitation program available. In the last year, Narconon Suncoast has helped to create more than 65 drug free individuals who were able to re-enter society and actually live their lives—free from their additions. Now a highly effective, non-traditional program is readily available to addicts in Florida, the Southeastern United States and beyond.
