Confidently Moving Forward, Thank You for Saving My Life!

S.S., Narconon Suncoast Graduate

Before coming to Narconon Suncoast, I was on a downward spiral. I was smoking meth and drinking GHB daily. I could barely function. I lost my job, relationships with my friends and family, with nowhere to live. I thought to myself, “if this is living, I might as well be dead.”

I didn’t want to die, so I literally crawled into Narconon, begging them to help me! I got here with an open mind and immersed myself in the program. The program superseded my expectations. Starting with withdrawal, the staff was very gentle, kind, and catered to my needs. The day I finished withdrawal, I found out my mother passed away. The whole Narconon team was very supportive of me as I dealt with this difficult time. Because of that incredible support, I was able to continue with my program.

This was when I started sauna, which was my favorite part because I was getting my mind and body properly detoxed with the vitamins and establishing a routine. A beautiful experience with a clear body and clear mind. Moving onto Objectives, I was able to regain abilities long forgotten that getting high had robbed me of, like being present, focusing and paying attention, following simple commands, and listening. I was able to control myself and my environment.

Once I got to Life Skills, I was able to confront the things in my life that I had spent years suppressing. I was scared, and it was emotional, but doing that gave me my freedom and the ability to put those things behind me so I can move forward. I also learned to evaluate the people in my life. I was able to recognize the people that are good to be in my life and the people that I needed to cut out. I was able to re-establish communication with the people I love and respect and want to be surrounded by. I can confidently move forward with my life, clean and sober, and can say I am happy with myself and about life again.

“I established healthy relationships and learned how to have friends as well as be a friend.”

I would like to thank the staff at Narconon Suncoast for choosing to be here, saving peoples’ lives. I want to thank the individuals who supported and guided me through withdrawal, sauna, objectives, and life skills. Their patience and caring support, through good days and bad days, meant the world to me. I also want to thank the students who I went through the program with, I will never forget them! I established healthy relationships and learned how to have friends as well as be a friend. Narconon saved my life!
