National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week 2025, March 17-23rd

Drug education lecture

Narconon Suncoast remains committed to keeping communities informed about addiction and substance abuse during National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week (NDAFW) 2025.

St. Petersburg, Florida — National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week (NDAFW) is an annual event that works to keep youth educated on the science of drug and alcohol use and addiction. The idea is that the more educated kids and youth are on these topics, the better they can make informed decisions.

Hundreds of communities around the country and world hold events with educators, counselors, and other professionals to provide facts, insights, and resources on drug and alcohol use. The fight against addiction and substance abuse has been a difficult one in our country, and having better-informed youth is a pivotal start in improving it.

We’ve already been seeing declining levels of use for all substances by youth over the past several years. This was especially true between 2020 and 2021, and the lowered levels have remained steady. As youth continue to be well-educated and informed on substances, the better they will be able to avoid falling into them early in life.

How National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week Can Help

When it comes to drugs and alcohol, knowledge is power. While our youth does receive some level of education regarding drugs and alcohol in their normal education, the more, the better. This is where National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week 2025 comes in.

Unfortunately, it can be far too easy for our youth to fall into drugs or alcohol due to feeling isolated or having life difficulties. So, NDAFW is meant to give kids the knowledge they need to make the best decisions for themselves, develop healthy coping skills, and show them it’s okay to ask for help.

Overall, during NDAFW, communities, and professionals help kids understand the dangers of these substances and normalize asking for help when struggling.
