Dr. Richard Wallace, MD
Our Medical Director, Dr. Richard Wallace, assists newly admitted students to handle various medical conditions they may be experiencing after living a lifestyle of drug abuse and alcoholism. His high level of compassion for people, strong desire to help, and understanding of addiction and medical detoxification make him an excellent Medical Director for our facility.
Assisting our students through their initial detox and withdrawal, Dr. Wallace, ensures they are closely monitored throughout the process. He also ensures all of our students have all of their medical needs met to properly detoxify from drugs and alcohol as comfortably as possible.
Dr. Wallace has been practicing medicine since 2003. He has assisted thousands of patients in the area of detoxification and substance abuse. He is a family practitioner and has worked in Urgent Care Medicine since 2003. He completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2003 and 2004.
Dr. Wallace gets a high level of personal satisfaction from being able to handle a variety of patients and providing definitive treatment in the fast-paced urgent care setting.
Dr. Wallace graduated from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee with Honors in Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Radiology. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at USF/Morton Plant Family Practice Residency in Clearwater Florida June of 2003, earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Florida, Tampa in 1996 while competing at the collegiate level in track and field. He is currently licensed to practice medicine in Florida and is board certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.
