Life-Changing Rehab: Why Narconon Was the Answer

Kelly is a 44-year-old single mother of two daughters, ages 18 and 14. A graduate of Texas A&M, Kelly spent much of her life devoted to volleyball—a sport she truly excelled in after earning a college scholarship. Despite her athletic success, her life was marked by significant struggles. What began as adolescent experimentation with drugs and alcohol eventually spiraled into a debilitating addiction to opiates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, and alcohol.
Following college, her addiction intensified, eventually taking complete control of her life after the birth of her daughters. Though she fought to manage the responsibilities of single motherhood, her life descended into a “ball of chaos.” Multiple attempts at rehabilitation failed to create lasting change, leading to several arrests and periods of incarceration.
After her most recent time in jail, Kelly reached out to a friend who introduced her to the Narconon program and the life-changing technology he believed could save her. Today she is a Narconon graduate and has a full-time job just 3 weeks after completing the program.
This is her success:
“When I got to Narconon, coming from jail, in the middle of the night, I didn't know what I was coming to or what to expect. Starting with withdrawal, the staff got me used to the surroundings and comfortable. I was extremely nervous to be around all of the other students and just wanted to hide.
I started the New Life Detox in the sauna, met my future twin, and became close and comfortable with her. I experienced bad cravings in the sauna, but as I kept going, they went away. I was happy to get all of the toxins out of my body.
When I did Objectives with my twin, it was weird at first. I didn't know what I was doing or why I was doing these things like touching walls. But as I learned to trust my twin and my supervisor, I was able to put into words the realizations and not feel like she was judging me.
Through Objectives, I accepted my responsibilities and the mistakes I've made, especially with my daughters and the effect my addiction had on them. Getting off those past experiences helped me focus on the present and my future. Going through Objectives, I also became close with the Supervisor and trusted her 100%. I was able to talk to her about things I'm going through that have always been hard to discuss with anyone.
Learning to trust is something I have gotten out of Narconon.
The Life Skills probably had the biggest effect on me. Writing my Life Story [Overts and Withholds] and being honest with myself was really such an eye-opener. Seeing my life on paper for the first time was actually shocking to me.
Writing my overts to myself and others made me recognize the harm I've caused to others and myself. Seeing it on paper, I had to own it. It gave me the relief of my past so I can be better moving forward.
Being honest and being able to have the Ethics Officer read my life story and my overts while I was writing them was hard for me. But, as I kept writing and as I realized what a kind soul she [the E/O] is, I started to be 100% honest about everything and felt comfortable doing it. I have to say, without her feedback and response I probably would never have become an honest person.
Working on the Conditions was amazing. I learned the formulas to apply in life. The Ethics Officer was amazing and helped me make huge life-changing decisions that will better my life.
“Narconon is life-changing, and it will always be a part of me.
I'm excited to move on with life.”
Narconon is life-changing, and it will always be a part of me. I'm excited to move on with life. I love everyone here!!”
