Narconon Suncoast Screens New Public Service Announcements for Students

Narconon Suncoast PSA

Narconon Suncoast recently rolled out new Public Service Announcements to reach more people with a message of recovery.

These public service announcements come just in time for October, which is considered “Medicine Abuse Awareness Month” by the CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America). Its sole purpose is to bring about awareness of the dangers of not only prescription drug abuse but over-the-counter drugs as well.

Over the recent years, medicine abuse has become an epidemic, affecting more individuals nationwide than ever. Doctors have been over-prescribing opiate pain killers, causing a huge surge in overdoses and deaths, as well as the creation of a new generation of heroin addicts. Heroin, Oxycodone and Fentanyl abuse has been destroying families and causing chaos in communities across the country. The problem is progressively getting worse and could have so easily been avoided. Young kids looking for cheap and legal highs will intentionally overdose on cough and cold medicine in order to get intoxicated by Dextromethorphan, which gives an LSD-type experience in high doses. Medicine abuse is creating more addicts each day, leading to the highest ever demand for drug treatment that actually works.

In order to raise the public’s awareness of the dangers of not only medicine abuse but other forms of addiction as well, Narconon Suncoast created five different public service announcements that cover topics such as prescription drug addiction as well as heroin, cocaine and alcohol abuse. These PSA’s not only cover the problems of addiction but also offer a solution, highlighted by actual testimonials of real Narconon graduates. The PSAs will soon air on radio and television and detail Narconon Suncoast’s mission to create more sanity on this planet, to help fight against the scourge of addiction and to help addicts once again become sober, happy, drug-free individuals. In order to get unbiased reactions to these PSAs, they were recently screened for current Narconon Suncoast students.

Their reactions were raw and unfiltered. They offered their likes and opinions about each PSA and how they felt while watching them. The PSA’s were unanimously enjoyed; one student said:

These PSA’s are sure to strike a chord with almost anybody.”

The students were wowed by them and thought they got right to the point. They also liked how the PSAs will help to make Narconon Suncoast’s program more well-known in the world. Most of the students had been to rehab many times before, first trying “traditional” rehabilitation, not knowing of another way to get clean. Many of the students stated that they wished they could have seen these PSA’s when needing rehab the first time.

Narconon Suncoast is very excited about the release of its new public service announcements and hopes they will help introduce more people to a workable rehabilitation methodology. The Narconon program has been around for the last 50 years and has helped thousands of addicts become drug-free for good. The new PSAs will help to spread the message of Narconon in a wide public arena that will allow many more addicts to recover.
