Our Facility—Narconon Suncoast

When choosing a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program for yourself or a loved one, there are many things that should be considered. Looking for the best treatment center for a loved one can be an exhausting and emotionally draining task, but making the correct choice is of the utmost importance. Each addict is an individual. They have individual needs based on who they are and what they’ve gone through in life. Unfortunately, every program out there isn’t suitable for every addict and it can’t be a “one size fits all” mentality.

Many facilities out there are in a hospital or clinic-like setting that most clients feel uncomfortable with. Some treatment programs out there have multiple locations, meaning the residence is at one location, usually an apartment complex, and clients are then bussed to an office building each day where the actual treatment takes place, and they are then taken around to various 12-Step meetings, then back to the residence. Detoxing from drugs and addressing the actual problem is hard enough as it is. What makes that process even more difficult is doing it in a setting where the addict is unhappy in his or her surroundings.

Some free or state-funded facilities are known to be understaffed and in rundown buildings or are operated out of homeless shelters in sketchy parts of town. Trying to get clean and turn one’s life around in a stressful, dirty, or dangerous environment can be a futile effort. It’s quite difficult to focus on handling the underlying issues to addiction while feeling uncomfortable or unsafe.

It’s been found that part of rehabilitating an addict includes putting them into an environment that’s not upsetting or triggering, but rather, treating them in comfortable surroundings where the distractions are minimized, and a person can focus solely on putting their life back together. Narconon Suncoast offers a facility that is second to none and the perfect environment to heal one’s own life.

Narconon Suncoast has a state-of-the-art facility in Clearwater, Florida located about a mile from the Gulf Coast shoreline. The facility is nestled into 4 acres of lush, tropical landscaping with walking trails, rolling hills, and more than enough space for our students to focus on the most important thing of all—getting their lives back. The facility is also secured, keeping students safe from any outside influences.

Narconon Suncoast itself boasts a modern design throughout it’s 35,000 square feet of interior space, broken up into 4 separate, interconnected buildings that strive to provide a home-away-from-home feel and to not feel like an “institution.” The facility is ultra-high-tech, with interactive visual displays located throughout the buildings and some rooms are operated by touchpads.

Accommodations

Bedroom

The facility can accommodate 30 students at a time. Usually, rooms are shared but private suites are available upon request. Generally, there are 2 students assigned to a room, each coming with an en-suite bathroom and shower. All rooms are equipped with Tempur-Pedic mattresses for added comfort. Our suites are available for the business executive, celebrity, or anyone else who requires private accommodations. Each suite comes with a queen-sized bed, living room and full bathroom. Withdrawal services can also be delivered privately in-suite.

Outside cafe

One of the things commonly agreed upon by students is that the food at Narconon Suncoast is wonderful. We have a full-time chef who freshly prepares all meals, 7 days a week. Our menu is designed by a nutritionist who conducts all meal planning that is wonderfully executed. All meals are served buffet-style and are enjoyed in a comfortable and cozy dining atmosphere. There are always healthy options available alongside some comfort food. We can accommodate any dietary restrictions within reason and are always careful with those who have known food allergies. Our chef knows that the students here are going through a very difficult time in their lives and one thing that can always comfort them is a good meal prepared by someone who cares.

Narconon Suncoast wants to create the best, most therapeutic environment possible for its students. Too often, drug users have been living in a hostile, dangerous, and threatening environment with little hope of escaping the life they created for themselves. Drug addiction takes addicts to dark, lonely places where they don’t dare close their eyes for a second to ensure their safety.

Many addicts have found themselves living in squalor, in run-down motels, or literally living homeless on the streets. Many towns and cities can be fairly unforgiving for those who don’t have a safe place to sleep at night. While addicts have created this condition for themselves, putting them back into a safe and caring environment where they can be helped is more important than you can imagine. Only then can the addict let their guard down and at the very least, know they are protected and thus be able to put their attention on getting clean and saving their own lives.

Many luxury rehabs exist that house addicts in lavish and opulent surroundings where their every wish is granted and staff wait on them and fulfill every request or demand. While this type of facility might employ things such as yoga, horseback riding, and massage therapy, the foundation of these programs is primarily 12-Step and overall has a lower success rate. While the facility at Narconon Suncoast is beautiful and comfortable, it’s not an “over-the-top” luxury experience because, at the end of the day, our students are here to get off of drugs, not to take a vacation at some resort and spa.

No rehabilitation program needs to pamper its clients and place them into the lap of luxury because that’s not the point of drug rehabilitation. The point is to create a comfortable, warm, and inviting atmosphere where addicts can focus on getting through their programs and transforming their lives for the better. That said, each person deserves and a warm bed and a safe place to lay their head at night.
